WE EDUCATE

Adult education programs in English and basic computer skills empower refugee youth who missed formal schooling. These classes enhance communication, integration, and future job eligibility

We tackle youth unemployment by offering hands-on training in trades like tailoring, carpentry, and welding. At YCI, we equip refugees with skills and entrepreneurship tools for self-reliance.

WE RAISE

We organize mental health workshops and campaigns to reduce stigma. At YCI, we offer counseling and group sessions to help refugee youth heal from trauma and stress.

WE PROMOTE

We use tree planting to unite communities and promote care for the environment. At YCI, we run campaigns, raise awareness, and advocate for environmental laws in Uganda.

"Fleeing conflict, I turned to drugs in Kampala, feeling lost. But Youth Cooperation for Ideas gave me a second chance. I learned tailoring and now run my own clothing label. I’m clean, productive, and support my siblings—most importantly, I have my dignity back."

- Ahmed Hirsi Awale

TESTEMONIALS

"As a refugee and addict, I felt invisible. Youth Cooperation for Ideas saw me, giving me a chance to train in electronics repair. Now, I own a shop and mentor others struggling with addiction. The program helped me recover and taught me to lead."
